France Day 5

Cannes to Manosque via the Calanques

The color of the water was so beautiful.

Carli wanted us to find Madeline's house and was very detailed how to find it. It had to be covered in vines and have 12 windows. Surprisingly, we found a few matches around France.
 Overlooking the Mediterranean

Yes, these adventurous people were rappelling the calanques. Yikes!

France Day 4

We rented a car in Nice and drove from east to west along the southern coast. Beautiful!

The Monte Carlo casino in Monaco

Delicious pizza - with Orangina, of course

France Day 3

Day 3 we went to see Notre Dame one more time. It was conveniently located right across the river from our B&B. We stayed in the top level of a woman's apartment. She is a professional musician and it was fun to see how a (probably fairly well-off) French person lives.

The "Love Locks" on the bridge - we're sad we didn't put one on while we were there.
On the speed train to Nice

France Day 2 - The Louvre

Pont Neuff - Bourne Identity, anyone?
Yep, we're definitely going for touristy here...

 Mary Magdalene's tomb - wait...
 Venus de Milo
 The original Louvre castle walls

 Code of Hammurabi
 The Winged Victory
The Lady herself - that's as good as that picture was going to get.
 One of my favorite paintings.

France Day 1

After 7 years of dreaming, Logan and I finally made a trip to France - for two whole weeks! It was incredible! We took the kids to Grammie and Papa Tommy's, and they hardly knew we were gone. We are so grateful for them for making it possible for us to go (along with many others who helped make it possible).

 Notre Dame
 Arc de Triomphe
 Tour de Eiffel

Place Vendome Column

April

Carli loved this hike and has been a great hiker lately.
This was before the last time I cut her hair.
 Our little ballerina.

 The adoring crowd...
 Yep, that's my child...
 Look at those pigtails!

March 2012

Yeah, it's been awhile, the pictures will have to explain themselves...

A "Teeny Tea Party" with Carli, D. and J.

The last weekend in March we went to a cabin with our good friends. I sure wish I had some pictures from it. It was eventful, as Carli fell out of the "Crow's Nest" (the highest loft in the A-frame cabin) and spent the rest of the day throwing up. It was fun to reunite and spend a day in a national park.

A couple more...

* Carli: "Mom, how old will you be on your next birthday?"
Mom: "28."
C: "If I was 28 I'd be dead!"

*Carli: "I want a whole bunch of sisters. We could put a sister in the middle (of the back seat in our car) between me and Janie."
Mom: "Do you want a baby sister?"
C: "No, not a baby. We just need to grow big girls."
