France Day 12

Montmartre and Sacre Couer

A human statue - people were putting money by his broom and I thought it was some kind of tradition with this statue before I realized it was a real person.

 Moulin Rouge
 Another Madeline house

You can barely see the Eiffel Tower behind us

France Day 11

We dropped of our little Ka and took the train back to Paris.

France Day 10

Biarritz (Atlantic coast), and Dax

It was the first hot day of our whole trip, and wouldn't you know it, we were at the beach! Seriously, our whole trip was that way and we feel incredibly grateful for how smoothly it all went.

This is another family Logan worked with on his mission. They invited us for dinner before we went to France. The day before we were going to their house we went to the grocery store for a couple of things and ran into Betty in the checkout line. She and Logan had a happy reunion. Dinner at their house was really nice, although they didn't speak English and I didn't speak French (and Logan was too busy talking to translate...). It was a traditional French meal with a couscous salad, pate`, duck breast and ice cream. Amazing! It was really fun to be around this family. They were so complementary of Logan and so hospitable to us. Another great experience.

France Day 9

Carcassonne to Dax via Lourde

Carcassonne is the walled city and castle where "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves" was filmed.

Such a beautiful village set in the French Pyrenees.

France Day 8

From Provence, through Gorde, Avignon, and Nimes to Carcassonne.

I fell in love with this sweet dog at our B&B.

It's hard to see, but this is a cool city built all out of red rock.
 The vineyards of Provence
 Gorde from a distance

 The market in Gorde

I think this is my favorite picture from our trip. This city was such an amazing sight.

 The Bridge of Avignon
Palais de Pap - The Pope's Palace (there was a Pope in France and Italy when they decided to excommunicate each other)

A cool natural spring up the hill from the Pope's Palace

Another view of the Bridge of Avignon

 The Roman aqueduct outside Nimes

I have only put a small fraction of the pictures that we took on the blog. I was tired of the picture-taking at this point.
 The Maison Carree

 Arena of Nimes

 The walls of Carcassonne
Logan's sausage and potato dinner at Carcassonne
