July 2019

July brought another dental visit. But who can be mad about that when it means a daddy daughter date to Culver's first?

We spent a lot of our summer at the water park, which is the best place to be in the heat. These kiddos are a pretty fun bunch to go with.

We were lucky enough to get away to Savannah for our anniversary. What a wonderful thing to vacation for a few days alone with my sweetheart. We toured an old mansion, ate delicious food, relaxed on the beach, went to an improv comedy show, walked and walked and toured the downtown squares, visited a famous cemetery, toured an old fort (where we witnessed a cannon shooting directed toward a cruise ship full of people who were very excited to be fired at), and generally had a grand time together.

Meanwhile these two played together.

And these two got to bake and decorate cupcakes with Sister Mackelprang. A dream come true for them.

Whether I want to admit it or not, this cute girl turned another year older. She really wanted a lemon-themed birthday party, so we did our best to accommodate that. And we combined it with water games. And Logan's DIY driveway splashpad. I'm pretty sure fun was had by all.

It's hard to always have your birthday on the last day of summer before school starts, but she's a good sport (even when Mom won't make another cake and you have to settle for rice krispy treats).

This beauty is all ready to start Middle School, whether or not I'm ready. They just grow up, with or without permission...

We have been working like crazy on our yard this summer, especially with planting grass. On nights like these, I really appreciate the beauty of where we live.
